Petainer, the global market leader in innovative PET packaging, will be challenging brewers to ‘Break from Conformity’ at the 2017 Craft Brewers Conference (CBC) in Washington next month.

Petainer’s highly successful one-way 20- and 30-litre petainerKeg, which is increasingly being used by a growing number of craft breweries in the US and Canada, will be highlighted as a low-cost alternative to traditional steel kegs.

PetainerIt: reduces the cost of entering new markets; eliminated the expense and/or need for a keg washe; allows for on-time delivery of new sterile kegs in any quantities; and has no short-term or long-term contracts.

In the US, Petainer kegs arrive pre-purged with nitrogen, are equipped with CO2 scavengers to prevent oxygen ingress, use a standard Sankey D valve, have a one-year filled shelf life and can be tapped and re-tapped as many times as necessary.

At the 2017 CBC, Petainer will also showcase its petainerKeg Linestar, which is designed to enhance the benefits of the classic, one-way PET keg. The Linestar features a solid and robust external casing, designed to run on most steel keg filling lines, and is stackable up to three high for shipping and storage purposes.

The Linestar offers customers all the advantages of the classic petainerKeg with a host of new benefits, such as increased resilience throughout the supply chain, a lightweight, ergonomic design for handling, and ample space on the keg for branding opportunities.

Marc Kibbey, executive vice-president, North America, for Petainer, said: “Petainer will be showcasing a range of solutions at CBC which are designed to help North American craft brewers grow and develop their business. Among them is petainerKeg Linestar, which offers excellent logistical performance, helping extend reach across both the domestic market and overseas.”

Petainer Manufacturing USA is also launching a Tap This competition leading up to and at CBC, offering round trip tickets, accommodation and entry to the London Craft Beer Festival, from September 4-6, for two people. Entry details can be found on the PetainerKeg Facebook page
