Saxon Packaging has been helping Norfolk charity Nelson’s Journey in its fundraising activities by supplying beer packaging.

Nelsons Journey supports children and young people who have experienced the death of a significant person in their life.

In November 2017, Saxon was approached by the charity’s Debbie Allerton to see if it could donate packaging for beer it had been gifted by the World Beer Awards, to sell at its beer and bake sale.

The event was a great success, raising more than £1,000 for the charity, and when it came to doing the event again this year, Saxon was more than happy to support them once again.

Beers from around the world

Debbie said: “We were lucky to be given over 1,000 bottles of beer, from around the world, to sell at our beer and bake sale, and the packs provided by Saxon Packaging enabled us to sell these as packs of six for £5.

“Without these, we wouldn’t have had any way of packaging them that was sturdy, suitable for bottles of varying shapes and sizes, and that would make it easy for our customers to carry their beer bottles safely.

“We luckily came across the lovely team at Saxon Packaging last year and got back in touch for this year’s event. We were sent 500 of their six-bottle carry packs free of charge. This made a huge difference and allowed us to sell the quantity of beer with no trouble at all on the day.”

She added: “Thank you to all at Saxon Packaging for their help and support — you have helped bring back smiles to bereaved children thanks to your amazing packaging donation!”
