Korev Luke Dillon

Korev Cornish Lager Surf Ambassador Luke Dillon is in France this weekend, competing for Team England at the International Surfing Association’s World Surfing Games, taking place in Biarritz.

his event forms part of a series of building blocks leading towards the introduction of surfing to the Olympic Games in 2020 and has attracted some of the world’s highest-profile professionals.

Following the ISA competition, Luke will resume his World Qualifying Series (WQS) campaign in South Africa, taking on the surf at Durban Pier as he attempts to build upon his current 160 world ranking.

Luke said: “My results have been great, but no big run as yet. The WQS is known as ‘The Grind’; the travelling can be intense and the turnaround between contests is very quick, but I’m focused on improving my consistency and making a big improvement on my current ranking across the year.”

Jeremy Mitchell, marketing and communications director at Korev parent company St Austell Brewery, said: “We knew when Luke became a Korev ambassador that he was a truly talented individual, and for him to have come so far in such a short space of time is a credit to his dedication and commitment to surfing.

“We wish both Luke and Team England the very best in France and on the road to Tokyo in 2020.”
