An impression of how the new venue will look

Camerons Brewery says its new Head of Steam bar in Cardiff will open on October 30. It replaces the former Harvester on Church Street.

The bar will create more than 30 job opportunities for the city, including bar staff, chefs and management positions. The venue will host local breweries as part of its varied offering, including Pipes Beer, Bluestone Brewery, the Trefforest Brewery and Vog Brewery.

The Head of Steam offers customers the chance to eat from its signature menu of ‘pub-grub with a contemporary twist’ or sample a beer from its 45 cask and keg lines.

In a space that’s great for family and friends alike, the venue aims to create a welcoming atmosphere in relaxed surroundings catering for everyone from the expert beer connoisseurs, to those that just want to enjoy a coffee and great food.

Jim Bentley, retail managed house director, said: “We are really excited to bring the Head of Steam to Cardiff, this will be our first venue in Wales, and we feel it is ideally located in this brilliant city, so it should be a real success.

“We have launched a number of venues across the UK this year already and we really love to embrace the locations we move in to by hosting local breweries and taking inspiration from the local history for our décor.

“Our aim is for the venue is to go back to basics, embrace our core brand values of inclusivity — we want this to be a place for everyone — even dogs are welcome! We can’t wait to welcome the people of Cardiff to share a drink with us and enjoy some great food.”
