Falmouth Beer Festival is less than a month away, with a new location, new bars and new drinks to tempt a wider audience.

The event, organised by the Cornwall branch of the Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA Kernow), is being held in Event Square, Falmouth, by the waterfront, and will be under canvas this year.

It’s being staged a couple of weeks earlier, than usual — from October 4-6 — and will include tutored tasting, street food and live music.

On the drinks front, there will be 240 real ales, 70 ciders, 20 craft beers and 15 gins, as well as country fruit wine and mead.

Eco-friendly

CAMRA is supporting the Plastic Free Falmouth campaign by offering eco-friendly carrier bags and food containers. Themed festival glasses will depict the move to Events Square, with pint, half-pint and third-pint measures.

As ever, the event will see the competition to decide the champion beer and cider of Cornwall. Trophies will be presented on the Thursday evening.

A £10 entry package includes admission, £4.95 of beer tokens, a festival glass and programme. CAMRA members will receive an additional £1.65 of beer tokens. Join CAMRA on the day, and you will receive an additional two complimentary festival pints.

There is a £3 entrance fee for non-drinkers, with soft drinks available for purchase. Pre-festival weekender tickets are now on sale at venues across Cornwall.
