Liberation Group, the West Country and Channel Island pub company has announced “exceptional trading” across all channels over the past ten weeks.

Like-for-like sales at its 44 managed pubs in the West Country, Jersey and Guernsey have leapt to 8% as they benefited from the warmer weather as well as taking advantage of England’s terrific run in the World Cup.

The 21 managed pubs in the West Country — located from Dorset to Gloucestershire — have seen a 12.9% uplift in like-for-like sales as customers utilised the outside space and quenched their thirst.

Sales in the managed pubs in Jersey and Guernsey saw similar like-for-like rises of 7.7% and 5.3% respectively, with customers cheering England on and taking advantage of excellent weather.

Chief executive, Mark Crowther, said: “We have focused heavily on ensuring our sites are offering the best and most welcoming atmosphere be it for the good weather or the football.

“We worked hard to make our pubs the place to be with outdoor TV screens and additional well-stocked bars, and laid on barbecues to support the growing numbers and entertain those watching the beautiful game over the tournament.

“Our pub teams have been exceptional, going the extra mile each day, and we are extremely proud of the hard work and the dedication shown.”
