    Beer Festival Groningen Netherlands

The 3th edition of the Beer Festival Groningen will take place again in the ‘Martinikerk’ in Groningen. The festival did become one of the biggest beer festivals in the Benelux in just 2 years. This year visitors can taste over 125 special beers. There are beers from all over the world. All the beers will be chosen by the brewery itself or a representative of the brewery. This means that there is a lot of knowledge around about all the beers.

There will be given different kind of master classes by Melissa Cole (UK) and Giovanni Campari (I).Next to this various competitions will take place. There’s a competition for amateur brewers and this year there will also be a competition for professional brewery’s. The amateur brewers are challenged to make the best ‘Weizenbier’ and the breweries are challenged to develop a ‘Spring/ May Bokbeer’. On top of this there’s a competition of the best ‘beer and food- combination’.

The festival is split up in different sessions over 2 days:

Friday 12th of April: 19:00 hour till 23:00 hour
Saturday 13th of April: 13:00 hour till 17:00 hour
Saturday 13th of April: 19:00 hour till 23:00 hour

Tickets price is €13,- including 2 coins and a tasting glass. More information, entrance tickets and tickets for master classes are available on the website http://www.bierfestivalgroningen.nl/en/

Tennent's has launched Black T, a 4.7% ABV premium lager using high-quality, mostly home-grown ingredients. Following teaser activity over the last few days, including secret deliveries of all black, unbranded bottles to social media users and mysterious messaging outside the brewery, Black T will now be available in Tesco and Sainsburys from this weekend • Casks of Colonial Mischief, a 4.1% ABV American brown ale hopped with Simcoe, Chinook, Galaxy and Cascade, are rolling out of Hardknott Brewery • Gyle 59 has Green Hop Wheat Beer now available in bottles through its online shop • London Fields Brewery is to launch seasonal, Halloween-themed beers this week. Pumpkin Ale (6% ABV) is a pumpkin pie scented amber ale, with low bitterness, a balanced malt backbone, hints of cinnamon, clove, all spice and nutmeg. There will also be a brew called Gyle 666, which is a spiced brown ale • Winter Sun, from Meantime Brewing Co, the floral yet spicy flavours of Hallertau and Hersbrucker European hops with fruity Liberty American hops to provide a thirst quenching, sweet and revitalising taste.
