Drought, hurricanes and changes in sea levels, brought about by climate change, could affect barley crops and double the price of a pint.

That’s according to new research involving the University of East Anglia, published in the journal Nature Plants.

The study focused on the impact of climate change on a number of crops and concluded that coffee and wine supplies could also be affected.

The journal said that during severe climate events global beer supplies could fall by 16%, forcing prices up.
