Beer seller Cave Direct has taken on five new Belgian microbreweries for import, one of which is new to the UK.

Tilquin, De Dolle, La Rulles, Verhaeghe and Toye will be available from Cave Direct as of Monday (May 23), with Toye reaching the UK for the first time.

These five breweries were chosen after extensive research by the team and many arduous tastings, which were chronicled by Jonny Garrett of the Craft Beer Channel (see video, above).

Tilquin, one of the world’s most renowned lambic blenders, will be available in bottle to start with, with draught hopefully following soon. Cave Direct will have an extremely limited supply of the gueze, Quetsche and Mure. Also only in bottle is Toye, a brewery built from scratch by one man, which now produces a beautiful Belgian strong to rival Duvel and the other greats.

The other three breweries will have beers available in bottle and keg, including the famous Flemish red Duchesse De Bourgogne, De Dolle’s Arabier and La Rulles’ saison, Estival.

A selection of beers from all of the breweries will be available for on trade as well as on Cave Direct’s consumer site, Beer Merchants, with the exception of Tilquin which will only be for on-trade.
