The Bishop Vesey, in Boldmere, has beaten off stiff competition to take the West Midlands pub of the year award once again.

The popular pub serves a range of real ales alongside Oakham Ales’ award-winning Citra and has retained its place in the Good Beer Guide.

Pub manager, Siobahn Hayward, said: “We are absolutely delighted to receive this award once again.

“All of us at the Bishop Vesey work hard to ensure our customers have a great experience, and we will continue to stock fantastic beers, such as Oakham Ales’ Citra, to ensure we are supporting our real ale followers.”

The award was officially handed over by George Greenaway, chairman of the Lichfield, Sutton and Tamworth branch of CAMRA.

Oakham Ales managing director, Adrian Posnett, said: “We are delighted that The Bishop Vesey, which is a fantastic outlet for Oakham Ales, has been recognised by CAMRA for its incredible work.

“We wish Siobhan and her team many more successes in the years to come, and look forward to celebrating with them.”
