Virtual reality hop garden

The 2017 British hop harvest is looking great, according to Ali Capper, of Stocks Farm, Worcestershire, featured in BBC Breakfast this morning.

Reporter Ben Thompson was on the farm as the bines were brought down and the hops prepared for harvest and drying.

“Ir looks like it’s going to be a beautiful harvest,” said Ali, who explained that the hops in question are Goldings, a traditional variety offering floral, honey and spicy flavour notes.

Asked about the current craft beer boom, Ali added: “The craft beer industry is brilliant news for hop growers. Craft beer is all about provenance and quality.”
