A Norfolk brewing name from the past has been resurrected in 2013 with the return of the Lacons brand. It’s 45 years since Lacons beers were last drunk, the original brewery having been founded in 1760. Now the name has been resurrected with Wil Wood installed as head brewer.

Small batch brewer Honest Brew has created an Amber beer as part of its Straight Up series. It's a warming autumnal ale designed to accompany a hearty seasonal dish • Everards' Pumpkin Ale returns this October. "The rich ruby coloured beer, 3.8% ABV, is made with real pumpkin offering a depth of flavour. A burnt, smoky character is balanced with light citrus flavours," says the brewer • CAPDOG (9% ABV) is a new smokey black IPA, brewed to imperial strength and infused with cascara, the fruit of the coffee plant. Subtly sweet, with big resin and chocolate notes, balanced by spicy and smokey flavours, it is a collaboration between BrewDog and Swedish brewery CAP (Curious Audacious Products) • Mail order beer shop EeBria has new beers from Buxton, Siren, Brew by Numbers and Bishop Nick
