Hop Stuff Brewery has unveiled its new seasonal draught beer; a citrussy Vienna lager named Freudian Strip, which launched last night in London.

Vienna malt and Mandarina Bavaria hops work together beautifully on the 4.5% ABV, light amber brew, which has orange candy notes.

The new beer will initially be available at Hops Stuff’s flagship bar, the Taproom, with a selection of London venues to be announced soon.

Hop Stuff Freudian StripThe launch of Freudian Strip also marks Hop Stuff’s first artistic collaboration with East London illustrators, the Ward Brothers, in a move that celebrates creativity, humour and entrepreneurial spirit across the capital.

The Wards’ brand, Quite Good Cards, is renowned for pairing iconic images with witty wordplay. The East London duo have designed artwork for the new offering, and are only the first local independent creatives the brewery will work with on seasonal beers in the future.

James Yeomans, founder of Hop Stuff Brewery, said: “We’re really excited to take part in our first artistic collaboration, especially as it’s with a local business that we are passionate about supporting.

“Earlier this year we released our core range in cans, with accessibility to craft beer at the forefront of our minds. However, our seasonal variants allow our top brewers to stretch their creative legs and experiment with more daring flavour profiles.

“Partnering with Quite Good Cards allowed us to work with a fantastic team of like-minded locals to design a visual personality for this lovable lager.”

James Ward, co-owner of Quite Good Cards, said: “My brother and I are always looking for fun opportunities to collaborate with other companies, and we’re really excited about working with Hop Stuff on their new Vienna lager.

“Considering the ideas for our work are usually facilitated by the odd pint of beer, it’s great to have the chance to give something back to an industry from which we have taken so much.”
