Cornwall CAMRA members enjoyed a day out in the North Cornwall area, kicking off with a tour around the Bude Brewery.

They were introduced to head brewer Liam Cooke, assistant brewer Thomas Westlake and salesman Thomas Rooke, before having a look around the brewery and trying some of the beers.

Bude BreweryAmong the brews sampled was a milk stout called Draco, part of Bude’s new offshoot Kreft craft beer range.

There was a chance to try another Bude beer, Porthbud, when the CAMRA party moved on to the Bude Ruby Club bar.

But centre of attention there was the Cornwall CAMRA 40th anniversary ale, which Bude Brewery has created. It was time for a bite to eat, too, with pies from the Cornish Pie Co.

Before returning home, there were further stops at the Preston Gate, Poughill, the Kings Arms, Stratton, and the Bullers Arms Hotel, Marhamchurch.
