US beer Blue Moon is bringing its Once in a Blue Moon interactive art installation to East London’s Old Spitalfields Market on June 23 and 24.
The installation has been inspired by the beer’s story. First brewed from the Colorado Rockies’ baseball stadium in Denver, the assistant brewer remarked that “a beer this good only comes around once in a blue moon”. To celebrate the ‘blue moon’ moment Keith Villa, the beer brand’s head brewmaster and founder, had when he created the beer, Londoners are being encouraged to dream big and add their wish to the growing installation.
A wishing tree will feature hanging oranges and an array of light, sound, orange scents and textures to celebrate Blue Moon moments and the beer’s perfect serve with a full moon orange slice garnish. The first 100 people that cast their wish each day will be rewarded with a free half pint of Blue Moon for taking part, and given the chance to win one of 25 crates of beer.
The installation will be brought to Londoners at the pop-up where Blue Moon will be selling beer from a giant orange crate bar complete with an InstaPrinter. People are invited to take home their favourite pictures from the event that have been posted using the hashtag #OnceInABlueMoon
Following the London launch at Old Spitalfields Market, the installation will be visiting Manchester’s Blue Dot festival(July 7-9) and the Edinburgh Fringe Festival (August 4-28).
