Mardler’s was named as gold winner in the mild category. The beer takes its name from the Norfolk dialect, meaning ‘to chat’. With an ABV of just 3.5%, the beer has delicate sweet roasted malt notes and low hop taste.
In the best bitter category, Nelson’s Revenge picked up the silver award. At 4.5% ABV, Nelson’s has a citrus taste and aroma, full of Norfolk malt, and paying homage to Admiral Nelson and his crew.
Judi-mae Alderton, head of marketing at Woodforde’s, said: “The opinion of CAMRA drinkers is really important to us, since they’re so passionate about real ale. We are really pleased with these results.”
