Exeter and East Devon CAMRA’s Festival of Winter Ales returns to the city’s football ground on January 18 and 19, celebrating its 30th anniversary.

Exeter Festival Winter AlesThe beer selection comes from local brewers — such as Topsham Brewery, with its Mud Monster Stout — and those farther afield, such as Aviemore’s Cairngorm Brewery, which is supplying White Lady.

There will also be a special 30th anniversary beer, Thirsty 30, brewed by Branscombe Brewery, based near Seaton on Devon’s south coast.

There will also be an opportunity to taste beers which have been nominated for the 2019 Champion Beer of Britain competition.

By special request — as well as winter warmer style brews — the festival will be introducing some hoppier beers, as well as real lagers.

The event will be open from 11am until 11pm each day, with hot and cold food available. There will be music from Go Tell Alice, from 7.30pm on Friday, and Lunadella Blue, from 5.30pm on Saturday.

Branch press officer, Caroline Trevaskis, said: “As always, we are extremely grateful to Exeter City Football Club for allowing us to use their facilities, which always makes for a very friendly atmosphere and emphasises the role that the club has in the wider community of Exeter.

“We would also like to thank all our sponsors and supporters who help make this event possible.”
