White Lion Barrow-in-Furness

Malcolm and Marion (pictured), licensees of The White Lion pub, in Barrow-In-Furness, Cumbria, are celebrating 25 years running their favourite pub.

The couple marked their memorable occasion with an anniversary party. The traditional terrace pub was acquired by Robinsons Brewery on the May 6, 1992, and has been in the hands of Malcolm and Marion since then.

Malcolm said: “Me and my wife love serving for the local community. That’s why we have been at this wonderful pub for 25 years.

“We have formed many great relationships with our customers over the years, and can’t imagine working anywhere else. We are such a close-knit community, and it’s amazing to be a serving part of it.”

To make Malcolm and Marion’s event extra special, the marketing team at Robinsons Brewery designed a special anniversary pump clip for the pub to proudly parade on its bar.

Steve Robinson, business development manager at Robinsons Brewery, said: “We always like to do something unique for our pubs, especially when they’re celebrating a special event or milestone. So, for the White Lion’s 25th anniversary, we thought it would be a great idea to design a personalised pumpclip to mark the occasion.

“The pumpclip itself is the same shape as the current pub signage, while the inclusion of the two white lions is a nod to the pub’s old pictorial. It captures the proud spirit of the pub and pays tribute to Malcolm and Marion for their many years of loyal service. Their hard work over the years has ensured their success and we wish them plenty more!”
